CUP CHATS: Conversation, Connection & Community

Spring is in the air, so we’re meeting outside again!  Cup Chats are informal, in-person gatherings to connect with other parents and caregivers of kids with Special Education-related needs in our district. Our May meeting is BYOC&C … bring your own coffee (or other beverage) and chair. Click here to learn more about the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC SOMA).

Starting Monday, May 1, Delia Bolden will administer the NJSLA Assessment. The NJSLA Assessment is a standardized state assessment that stands for New Jersey Student Learning Assessment.  The assessment is electronic and will be administered to students in their classrooms using their District Issued Chromebooks.  Delia Bolden’s testing dates are listed below. Please note that make-up testing will take place immediately following each grade level’s scheduled testing dates.

You can help your child be successful during each day of testing by ensuring that they get a good night’s sleep each night, eat a healthy breakfast, and get to school on time.  Students should bring a FULLY CHARGED CHROMEBOOK, chargers and headphones.

Please make every effort to schedule appointments for your child, (doctor, dentist, etc.) that do not conflict with the testing schedule.  We plan to begin testing promptly at 8:30am.  If your child arrives after 8:30 am, he/she will be withheld from entering their classroom until testing is complete and this will result in make-up testing for your child.  Cell phones will be collected during testing.  We strongly encourage you to keep your child’s cell phone at home during testing unless it is absolutely necessary that they bring it to school.
