APRIL 2: PARA DAY

Paraprofessional Appreciation Day is April 2! SEPAC SOMA loves our SOMSD paras! We’re grateful for their hard work, commitment to, and compassion for the children in our district. Some students require the support of a para, which is written into their Individualized Education Program or 504 Plan. In a classroom, you may find a para who supports a few students or works with a student one-on-one. The reasons vary, including helping a student stay on task; assisting with in-class work; collecting data for a behavioral plan; and providing support with transitions, both emotionally and physically. The work they do to support their assigned students and help them succeed in a variety of settings benefits everyone!

THE BIKE BUS IS BACK!

SOMA Bike Buses are ready to hit the road again! As long as the weather keeps getting warmer, the Bolden Bike Bus will be open for business on Friday mornings, starting at 7:20 AM, for the rest of the school year. The route begins at the corner of Hoffman Street and Kendal Avenue. Each bike bus is made up of students and their designated adult riders (a parent, friend, or neighbor) along with adult volunteers who help shepherd our riders of all ages along the route. Find them on Instagram (@boldenbikebus and @somabikebus) or on WhatsApp.
